Cancer As a Spiritual Journey: Listening to Guidance

When I was first diagnosed with cancer, my guidance was very clear: “Get chemotherapy asap!” My guidance is always clear, but this was stronger than usual. It was almost as if my guides were yelling at me.
I think they needed to turn up the volume. When you’re diagnosed with cancer, all of a sudden you’re faced with so many options – and so many people with their own ideas of what you should do. It can definitely be overwhelming, as though having cancer wasn’t already enough.
The other reason my guides needed to “shout” was because I’ve always had a strong preference for going the natural route. It definitely wasn’t my nature to jump on the medical/pharmaceutical bandwagon. But that’s exactly what my guides were telling me to do. So, like always, I followed the guidance.
Fortunately, my oncologist is a wonderful person who’s very open to me listening to my guides. (Thank you, Spirit, for guiding me to her!) So we’ve been a good team.
I’ve seen throughout my cancer journey that listening to guidance has been so important. Fortunately, I’m blessed to hear my guidance very clearly, which has been a tremendous advantage. For those who aren’t so fortunate and struggle to hear their guidance, cancer is a great opportunity to change that.
So how can we listen to our guidance? If you’re like me, it comes in very clearly, like a voice in my head that’s different from my own. If you’re not experiencing that, it may be that you’re blocking it.
Some people are afraid of hearing “a voice,” equating it with being possessed. If that’s the case, you can dialog with the voice. Ask it who it is. This is a law of Spirit: All entities are required to reveal who they are, if asked directly. You can also ask what its intention is. If it’s an outside spirit and it doesn’t want to answer these questions, it will just go away.
I believe that most of the time when we get a “communication,” we’re hearing from either our higher self or one of our angels. And they’re trying to help us.
Be aware that you may not receive guidance through a verbal message. It may come as an image. Or a physical feeling. Or an emotion. Or an experience. You may be discounting these things as not meaning anything, or a mere synchronicity. Part of the process may be to start to listen to your body and experiences.
If you’re not sure if you can trust a message you’re receiving, test it out. Does it feel benign and supportive? Do you feel better or worse when you open to the message? Does it align with your previous experiences? All of these discernments can help you know whether the message is right for you.
In the book Radical Remission, Dr. Kelly Turner describes the experiences of people who’ve experienced “spontaneous remission” from cancer. This is a documented medical phenomena, where cancer patients go into remission without a clear explanation from the medical point of view. Based on her research of thousands of cases, she’s identified nine factors that people who’ve experienced spontaneous remission share.
Most of the factors were things I expected such as diet, exercise, emotional healing, etc. But one surprised me. She lists “following your intuition” as one of the nine factors that people consistently did, which made a difference.
I agree with that. And I think it’s a greatly under-recognized factor in healing, from cancer or anything else. In my cancer journey, even I have been stretched and grown in this arena. And I’m grateful for that. I feel stronger because of it, especially in my relationship to Spirit.

An Excerpt from Mary Magdalene Beckons
Hello, dear one ~
Many people today are speaking about forgiveness. And it is true: forgiveness is such an important process, especially at the stage where many of you find yourselves. Forgiveness will release you from the prison of thinking that someone else did something wrong to you or that you yourself did something wrong.
You see, your hurt is real. In this reality, this dimension, people really do get hurt. What you must understand is that this is different from thinking that someone has done something wrong. Wrong and right are simply fabrications of your mind, ideas that have been created to try to get people to do certain things that some people want them to do. Can you imagine living without the thoughts that some things are right or wrong? It is entirely possible and would benefit you tremendously.
If you didn’t have the idea that something was wrong, you would simply be left with your hurt. This would support you in turning your attention to yourself and your own process rather than wasting your attention and energy on your thoughts about others. Then you could simply be with your hurt, giving yourself over to the process of feeling.
When you fully feel, no longer resisting with your mind or your busyness, but simply surrendering fully to feeling, you receive a gift. It may be a message, an understanding that realigns you to truth and opens your heart. Or you may simply be led to the beautiful quality, the divine attribute that is the source of your pain. And in reconnecting with that divine attribute, you will be led through the pain, all the way through, to the light at the end of the tunnel. Going through pain is like a kind of death, and in surrendering to it, you find the light at the end of the tunnel.
At this point, you can forgive because now your heart is open and you are at peace, once again reconnected to God. From this place, you can open your heart to the other. You can connect with their divinity, the beauty that was motivating them to do what they did, even if it may have caused you pain. You can open to them again in love. This is true forgiveness.
This will be followed by action, and you will know what action is appropriate for that particular circumstance. There is not one formulaic response that is necessary or best for engaging forgiveness. You will know in each circumstance what you’re called to do. And it won’t be difficult, like pulling teeth or climbing Mount Olympus. It will be easeful and joyful because the forgiveness has already occurred. This is simply the natural outcome, the action flowing out of that new alignment, that shift at the heart.
Sometimes you may communicate with the person. Sometimes you may not. Sometimes you may ask for their forgiveness. Sometimes you may choose to have less to do with that person. Sometimes you may see how this circumstance served you, even if it created pain. Sometimes you may see how you created this circumstance. If it is true forgiveness, you will feel the unity of your heart and soul with this person.
Forgiveness is a hugely liberating practice. It can be engaged daily. Do not confuse it, however, with denying pain or denying that you experienced hurt. Do not confuse the practice of forgiveness with the idea of forgiveness or other related ideas such as, “I created this myself,” or “There’s only oneness, so not to forgive is only hurting me,” or “This is just an illusion,” or “I should forgive this.” While ultimately those statements are true, holding them as ideas will not help you and will actually hurt you if you’re using the ideas to avoid feeling the pain.
The process of forgiveness must be engaged through feeling. That is the corridor that will lead you to your open heart—your light-filled room of wonder, love, and peace—and your heart’s joy. Take that path, dear one, and reunite with your true Beloved. In that vastness of joy, you will have more than enough excess to love the one who has hurt you, to embrace and hold that one in this heart- full unity.
I love you and call you to join me in this space of divine union.

My Halloween Gift

I always love Halloween — maybe because it’s a week after my birthday. But I think it’s more than just that. I love the magic of the colors, the smells, the changing weather. And I truly believe the veil between the worlds is especially thin at this time of year. As the pagans sagely say: “Magic is afoot!”
This Halloween appears to be particularly notable. It falls on a blue moon/full moon, which in itself is fairly unique. Add to that a worldwide pandemic in full tilt and a highly contentious U.S. election, and the result for many is a sense of potential doom, with all the attendant feelings that tends to bring.
For me personally, this is also a significant moment. Since getting diagnosed with cancer six months ago and then going through chemotherapy, I feel like I’ve traversed my own dark night of the soul. I’m grateful to report I’m coming out the other side and feel newly emerged, even reborn. Hallelujah!
My dark night had everything to do with facing death. My death. Much sooner than I ever expected. Cancer seems to do that and I was no exception. For all my spiritual work and all the ways I thought I was fully integrated with death as part of life, I found my very human self was still in fear. It took me a long time to realize it.
At first I was in shock — the classic first stage of grief that Elizabeth Kubler Ross and others describe. And that lasted for months.
Then there was bargaining. In my case that took the form of researching everything I could get my hands on about possible cures and therapies. Not that I’m opposed to therapies or research. I just see now that there was an emotional component to what I was doing that was the classic second stage of the grief process, even though I didn’t recognize it at the time.
Thankfully I was spared the next stage of the cycle of grief: anger. I do think this is because of the spiritual work I’ve done. Instead I went to what was below any possible anger, which was sorrow and fear. Sorrow about potential loss of the joys of this realm. Sorrow about joys not yet realized.
Fear was the most difficult to face. Even to acknowledge. But eventually it was inevitable. And it happened in a most unexpected way. I gradually became aware that death had taken on a living presence in my life. It wasn’t just a concept anymore. It had become a viable presence — a subtle entity that seemed to sit next to me on my left side. And it was dark. Not malevolent. Quite neutral actually. But dark nonetheless.
This in itself was a surprise. I’ve always associated death with going into the light: seeing the light, the light at the end of the tunnel, being guided by angels of light. And I strongly believe that we go to a place of greater light after our death-transition. So the darkness of this entity was a revelation.
And that brings me to Halloween. I’d always thought of ghouls, ghosts, and the grim reaper as images from the collective unconscious, representations of fear finding a culturally acceptable avenue of expression. But now it occurred to me that there was more to it. I’m well aware that most “folk legends” have some origin in fact. And I started to “grok” that many of the dark Halloween archetypes were no different. I was experiencing their reality.
Did this take me into a hell realm, a place of unmitigated blackness and terror? Quite the opposite. It allowed me to open to the presence I was experiencing, to face it and begin to talk about it with others. And that led to one of the most ecstatic, vivid, and life-changing dreams I’ve ever experienced.
Because hearing others’ dreams can be quite tedious, I’ll spare you the details and go straight to the golden nuggets I received from this amazing experience: 1) I’m even more in-my-power now than ever, 2) I’m still attractive and sexy, 3) there’s a great party I’m invited to on the other side, and 4) life is really a hilarious joke.
And what about the specter of death I’d been living with? After the dream, it seemed to become integrated with me as a natural part of the total fabric of this world. I still can sense it, but just barely. And my fear is gone, replaced with great peace.
About a week later, I received a message from Death, in a channeling that happened quite spontaneously. It was the first channeling I’ve done since my cancer diagnosis, and I received it as a wonderful and uplifting gift. I’m delighted to share it with you now.
A Message From Death
2020 is a huge time of integrating death for your culture, especially in the US., but in western culture altogether. Because your culture is so rejecting of death. Your culture is so much about acquisition, grasping and holding on. Not about release and letting go. And most people don’t understand about rebirth, that it’s a cycle of birth-life-death-rebirth, on and on. In your world there’s huge fear of death and out of that avoidance of death. People are terrified of me.
This year people are having to get in touch with death. Not just physical mortality. Death of their old life, their old meaning, their expectations of what life should be, what they’re entitled to. This has a lot to do with entitlement. Entitlement is a very limiting belief. Your society feels entitled to the “good life.” And you’re confronting that now in all the restrictions being asked and recommended because of Covid. It’s challenging people’s entitlement.
This is a great spiritual opportunity, as most challenge is. Whatever you’re struggling with in the midst of the restriction and loss you’re experiencing, that’s where you believe you’re entitled, what you’re attached to. And that attachment is binding and limiting you. It’s keeping you from your freedom.
I’m here to support you in letting go. Of course you have a choice. You can do it now or you can do it later. And of course you’ll all be required to let go at some point.
So why do it now? Why not just wait until you have to? Because doing it now will bring you freedom. And that freedom will bring you ecstasy. Just as you, Mercedes, experienced in facing the part of you that’s afraid of dying. When you faced it and embraced it, when you asked it to guide you to its source, then you were gifted with ecstasy. So it will be for all.
I send you my blessings and love, even though it’s not in the form that most people are attached to. Love is always from the wholeness, the All, which includes darkness and light. At least in this realm.
Blessings and thank you for being one of the strong and brave, who open to the darkness. Thank you for helping others in this way.

MARY MAGDALENE: How You’ll Feel When You Open To the Feminine

Mary Magdalene: It’s been known for a long time that this would be the time when people on your Earth would be ready to engage in the ascension movement into the higher dimensions.
Balancing and uniting the Masculine and Feminine is very likely the most critical part of that process.
Question: “How will it look when we’re living this balance more effectively in our lives?”
Mary Magdalene: You will feel very different. This will be the beginning because the Feminine is all about feeling. You will feel your heart. You will feel your emotions. You will feel your body. You will feel your sexuality. You will start to operate in your life out of feeling, as opposed to thinking.
As this happens there will be a very natural process that will occur of your feeling and thinking beginning to integrate with each other. You might say that your thinking will calm down. Your thinking is like the substitute teacher that has walked in to handle the situation while the teacher has been absent. The being that’s supposed to be in charge is your heart. But because your Feminine has been so suppressed and underdeveloped, your heart is not fully active. It tends to be weak. So your mind has stepped in to cover, so you can survive and function.
This has been a great stress on your whole being, including your mind. Your mind was not intended to do this. When your heart becomes strong, through strengthening the Feminine, your mind will start to relax. It will actually become subservient to the heart. And the heart will start to lead.
It’s not that you will shut down your mind, or become stupid or not use your thinking functions. That is not at all the case. Your thinking is a tremendous gift. Why would you not use it, if it’s in support of your heart? The mind will be completely available to the heart. But more and more your heart will be guiding you.
This process has stages to it. The early stage is that your heart will come to the fore and your mind will relax, As this happens, your higher mind will open up. This is the seat of your Divine Masculine, which is your divine consciousness within yourself. More and more you will be operating from your higher mind (or Divine Masculine) and your heart (or Divine Feminine). This is the real uniting. Your higher mind is the space of consciousness. It is connected to higher dimensions and psychic abilities. All this is a process which will unfold stage by stage.
Most of you in your spiritual communities today are very aware of the heart. Most of you are aware that part of spirituality involves living from your heart. Yet if you were truthful with yourself, you would probably say that you do not live in your heart all the time. Most likely you don’t even live in your heart the majority of the time. This is reflected in your world.
Your choices in your world will be very different when you’re living from your heart. You will start to experience more and more freedom from the third-dimensional construct. You will start to experience freedom from things like the ideas of scarcity or survival. You’ll have freedom from the idea that life is about success or other people approving of you. You’ll have freedom from ideas of right and wrong, good or bad. And you’ll have freedom from the idea that life is about power and being driven to acquire power.
You will start to see that all of these ideas are very interwoven into third-dimensional consciousness, which is a consciousness of separation. That consciousness of separation has supported you to move into your mind and separate from your Feminine. As you start to come into your Feminine more and more, this third-dimensional construct of what matters and what life is about is going to start to weaken. It’s going to have less and less of a hold on you. You are going to see through it, as though it were a mirage, or a movie, or a story that this is reality.
You are going to start to experience a different form of reality. Part of this is that you will start to see many of the more Feminine qualities becoming stronger, qualities that have not characterized your world while the Feminine was suppressed and separated from. These are qualities such as love, compassion, kindness, care for all, and things of that nature.
This change will not come out as a belief, an idea, or a “should” that this is the way the world ought to be. It will be sourcing out of your internal essence where, at the core, at your very essence, you are opening to the Feminine in a way that you have been shut down to for a very long time. First and foremost, you are going to start see the changes within yourself. Then you will see the changes in your choices in the world. And finally these changes will be reflected back to you as the manifestation or form your world is taking.

Create your union of love and light through our hearts, minds, and hands.
Infuse our actions with your love-light, manifest in all forms.
Give us what we need each day.
And release us from our binding limitations, as we forgive ourselves and others.
Help us to remain with you.
And free us from non-awakeness.
From you comes divine will, the power of creation, sustenance, and release, and the nectar that purifies all, renewing from age to age.
May these invocations fill us with your power. May they be the source from which all my actions grow.

Question: Why is it important to learn about the merkaba?”
Mary Magdalene: It’s helpful to learn about the merkaba. Your energy body is there to help you and the merkaba is, in some ways, the completion of this stage of learning of what your energy body is, what it can do, and how it can help you. The merkaba is here to help you in a couple of primary ways.
One is it’s very much for your protection. It acts much the way a crystal acts, only it’s not the physical form of a crystal. Many of you have heard from various sources that as you progress in your spiritual development and move into the higher dimensions, you are going to change from carbon-based beings to crystalline-based beings. Your merkaba is part of this. It acts in many ways like a crystal.
It also acts differently than a physical crystal, so there are also differences. It’s energetic; it’s not physically based. But it has some of the qualities and capabilities of crystals. One of the things that crystals do is they can protect you. They are very powerful forms of protection, if you know how to use them. Your merkaba is the same. You can use it for energetic protection. This is something that many of you would be benefitted by.
So that is one of the reasons it’s important to learn about the merkaba—so you can have full access to its protection, which will support you energetically.
Another reason is that your merkaba is an activation device, which is also similar to a crystal. Crystals are used right now by your scientific world in many of your technological advances, such as the computer world. What you call your high-tech industry is often based on crystals because crystals can activate high-level processes. When you activate your merkaba, its crystalline nature is going to be very supportive for you in being able to manifest much more directly, easefully, and effectively.
Now this can bring up fear for some people. Some people have fear that that’s too much power and “who knows how I’m going to use that.” Perhaps they have memory of a past-life where they misused power or perhaps they just don’t trust that they have the wisdom to know how to use power. Those are healthy fears.
However, I want to remind everyone that you are already manifesting. You are simply doing it in a more primitive way at the third dimension. But all of you are manifesting all the time. So when you access the fourth dimension, it’s simply that your manifestation will happen more directly and more quickly.
You already have experience with making choices around what you choose to manifest. It is very wise, very sagacious, to realize that yes, there are ramifications to your manifestation. It is important that you use that power for the highest good, for yourself and all. This is why this power is not given at the third dimension. It is given at the fourth dimension, especially after beings have done your emotional work.
This is another reason for doing your emotional work. That is a safeguard. Your emotions are very powerful protectors. If you are not engaging for the highest good, you will get feedback through your emotions. It will be very painful for you. And conversely, if you are manifesting for the highest good, your emotions will also give you feedback of joy, balance, wholeness, ease, contentment, peace, all of those kinds of things.
You actually have a lot of skills already developed that are safeguards against you misusing power. This is not to say that you can’t misuse power. But it is much less likely if you have the ability to go into your heart. This is why it is important that you are a heart-and-mind integrated being, rather than simply a being acting from the mind, dissociated from the heart.
The merkaba will help you to manifest in integration with your heart. And your heart will participate and steer you.
To those of you who feel afraid of having more power, I hope this is reassuring.
Your world actually needs the people who are connected to their heart to take power. Your world is tremendously imbalanced by people assuming power who are not connected to their heart. It is a responsibility to engage your power but it does not have to be a heavy responsibility. If you do the work of staying connected to your heart, then your power will be a natural ability, in balance and in integration with your heart.

MARY MAGDALENE: Changing the Course of the Feminine on Earth

Question: Can you talk about how one can love, honor, and protect Mother Earth?
Mary Magdalene: This is a very important question because it points to a transformation of your world from 3D consciousness into 4D consciousness. The suppression of the Feminine has everything to do with 3D consciousness. And Mother Earth is a very strong aspect of the Feminine in your world. The way that Mother Earth is being treated is a reflection of the way the Feminine is being treated, which sadly is not very well in your world.
It’s valuable to take a stand for protecting Mother Earth, to support programs that protect Mother Earth, and to work against forces that seem to be not supporting Mother Earth. For some people, that is their soul work to do and it is absolutely important for them to do it, just as it is important for everyone to do their soul work. For some people that is completely appropriate and important. But to be the leaders of that cause, or to be dedicating your life to that kind of struggle and transformation, is not the soul work for everyone.
What all of you can do, first and foremost, is work with yourself. Do whatever is required in your path of transitioning from the third-dimension into the fourth-dimension. And know that healing the Feminine is a huge part of that. As you do the work with yourself, you will be changing the dynamics on planet Earth and even beyond. The Feminine will go from being suppressed, damaged, and hurt in so many ways, to being fully protected, honored, celebrated, and supported.
This will change the course relative to Mother Earth, along with so many other things in your world. This is what will allow the necessary shift to occur. Until that happens, it is very likely that even for those whose soul work it is to change the course of how Mother Earth is being treated, it is very unlikely that they will have that significant of a success. This is because what’s happening is rooted in the third-dimensional power grid, which your world is still deeply entrenched in.
The strongest thing you can do is your own spiritual work and personal transformation to grow beyond the third-dimensional limits into the next higher phases of spiritual growth. For most of you, this is moving into the fourth-dimension.
The spiritual practice you have learned for connecting with Mother Earth is really important—for Mother Earth, as well as for many other areas. It is a way of feeding Mother Earth, giving life to Mother Earth, giving space for Mother Earth to feed you the way she loves to do. It feeds her to give, as well as receive.
Each person who connects spiritually with Mother Earth helps to tip the scales. That’s what it will ultimately take. So you are already making a difference in the most powerful way by doing that. But if it is your soul path to contribute in other ways, then I greatly support you in doing your soul work and the two will work hand-in-hand beautifully together.

Mary Magdalene: Blessings, beloved ones. This is Mary Magdalene. And I am so very happy to be here with all of you.
I understand that all of you have been engaging in most intensive and quite advanced practice—activating your energy bodies, and laying the foundation for accessing the fourth-dimension and manifesting in the fourth-dimensional way. I want to acknowledge all of you for the work you are doing. I want to state very clearly (if you are not already completely aware of this) that the work you are doing is a great contribution to humanity. All of humanity. And even beyond humanity.
This is such important work. The greatest way beings can contribute at this time in your world is through this kind of personal transformation. Through that, you change the quotient of light on Earth, and the light being magnified through the Earth into the cosmos.
This is always the case for anyone who does spiritual work. In your case, you are doing very particular work that will particularly contribute to the transformation that beings are called to at this time. Of course, this includes your own transformation. But it is contributing to much more than just the personal level of all of you.
So I want to make sure you are aware of that. You are leaders in this way. Even if you never call yourself a “leader” or ever view yourself as a leader, even if you never choose to work with others in any other form, the work you are doing is at the forefront. That is what is meant by spiritual leadership. You are leading the way of this present-time transformation through the work you are doing with yourself. And we at the higher levels are extremely grateful to you. We thank you all so very much.
